Top Ten Tuesday: Characters I’d Like To Switch Places With For 24 Hours

I've decided to try taking part in a few memes to be more bookish. And this week's topic on Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke And The Bookish is a great one! I love following character's grow from start to finish, even better if they are part of a long series and thus have ever-expanding character traits. I love learning about the people they become and how they evolve according to the other book elements. There are loads of great characters out there and since the topic doesn't mention anything about gender, my list will comprise of both, but may not be equally divided.

Top Ten Characters I’d Like To Switch Places With For 24 Hours

In random order, of course.

1. Roarke, In Death Series by J. D. Robb

Oh gosh, I only recently got on the Roarke train but I want to stay on it for as long as possible! I'd want to be him, know his incredible mind, be the head of his HUGE company, live AND own both his house AND Sommerset (muahahaha...), and just look at myself in the mirror for what... the 8 remaining hours? Lol....he's too gorgeous for words. Can you really blame me? Truly?

2. Eve Dallas, In Death Series by J. D. Robb

My reasoning for wanting to be Dallas is simple. She is married to THE Roarke! I think that speaks for itself if only for the nightly extra-activities if you know what I mean! Well that and the fact that she kicks *ss and gets to boss her way around the office. Very cool!

3. Matthew Farrell, Paradise by Judith McNaught

Matthew was my first love before Roarke came along. In my eyes, he is still perfect. Intelligent, business-savvy, a hunk with women throwing themselves at him. But with the greatest heart once you manage to get through the shield. Oh, and he has a company that rivals Roarke's. See the connection?

4. Jameson Rook, Nikki Heat Series by Richard Castle

I'd have picked Richard Castle, if only he had been in a book, but since I can't, I picked the next best thing. Rook, who resembles him so much I often get the two wrong. He's got a great investigative mind and he's funny and he's a Castle character! Gosh, that alone is fun!

5. Meredith Bancroft, Paradise by Judith McNaught

Heroine of Paradise alongside Matthew. She has a sort of great life. Almost everything she wants except for an overprotective (and crazed, if you ask me) father. She is so misunderstood you feel bad for her but I'd love to be in her shoes for more than a day! She manages a departmental store! Something most females dream about, getting to shop in your own store.

6. Elizabeth Bennett, Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen

One of the most classic characters and one of my all-time faves. What's there not to love about Elizabeth. She gets Mr. Darcy for goodness sake! And she loves reading too! Plus plus!! I love a well-read heroine!

7. Sookie Stackhouse, Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris

Okay, I picked this character mostly due to the fact that she gets really hot guys. Yes, I am terrible and I know it. But she's a fairy too so that's cool as well and she has powers so she's not all hopeless. Would be cool to be in Bon Temp for a day or two.

8. Jennifer Merrick, A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught

I'd love to experience life during the olden ages, the time when castle were besieged and you hunted for your food. Some people anyway. Well Jennifer, a Scottish nun-in-training, got kidnapped (cool if it ends well) and fell for her hero, a great warrior who besieged loads of castles and made one his own. Sounds terrible but after you read the book, you'll understand what I mean.

9. Amy, Across The Universe Series by Beth Revis

Always wanted to experience being on a spaceship and finding a new planet. I think I rewatched Titan A.E. way too many times but it's about the same, finding a new planet. I don't like the part where she's being hunted by all the others on the ship and made an outcast but looking for clues on a spaceship is interesting to me.

10. Harry Potter, Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowling

How could I not mention one of the Harry Potter characters right? Well, besides being a wizard, he has that great invisibility cloak and the cool map and Hedwig and all. Really rad if you ask me!

I actually found making this meme pretty difficult believe it or not. I think it's somewhat because I love reading series and my TBR list is REALLY long and has loads of the newer books with great storylines and characters in it. Darn! Anyway, I hope you liked and recognized a few, or most, of my characters.

Do you like the same ones or do you disagree with some on my list? Do feel free to share who you think should be on it! Thanks for reading!

  1. I would love to switch place with Harry Potter (or one of my other favorites from the series). I can see why it would be hard to create this list!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am following you back. :)
